Kritika & Jon

A fresh spring
Nepali & Taiwanese
wedding story

The wedding day began with a traditional Nepali ceremony in the morning, where the bride and groom participated in rituals such as the tika ceremony, receiving blessings from elders, and engaging in prayers led by a priest. The focus was on honoring their heritage and seeking divine blessings for their marriage. The attire was traditional, with the bride typically in a red sari or lehenga and the groom in a daura suruwal.

In the afternoon, the couple transitioned to an American wedding ceremony, where they exchanged vows and rings in front of family and friends. The colorful pastel florals and tablescape accents were a nod to the spring season, cultures and the couples’ persona.

Together, the two ceremonies blended Nepali cultural traditions with American wedding customs, creating such a unique and memorable wedding day.
